WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I’VE LOST SOMETHING AT THE FESTIVAL?
Please email a detailed description of your lost item to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be inventorying the returned items and will get back to you on whether or now we have located yours.
WHAT’S THE BEST TIME TO ARRIVE?
You should arrive at least 30 minutes before the band you want to see is scheduled to play. Why risk it?
CAN I WALK TO THE FESTIVAL/GATES?
Yes, if you ride the CTA Pink Line train or the Roosevelt or Ashland bus, the gates are a short walk over to 15th St. & Loomis
WHAT TIME DOES IT END?
10PM sharp every night. The party goes on at after parties around town (Announcements and ticket links coming soon!).
WILL YOU BE POSTING SET TIMES IN ADVANCE?
Yes, check back the week of the festival for final set times.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Check the weather forecast before you arrive. It’s always a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater for the evening hours, even if it’s hot during the day.

CAN I PASS OUT FLYERS INSIDE? OUTSIDE?
You cannot pass out any flyers inside under any circumstances. If you decide to distribute them outside the venue, please respect our neighbors and be sure to clean up any discarded flyers before you leave for the day.

CAN I RIDE MY BIKE TO THE FESTIVAL? WHERE DO I PARK MY BICYCLE?
Yes, please ride your bike to the festival. Check the official map (coming soon) for the location of our Bike Parking area.
CAN I USE TICKETS/WRISTBANDS/THE HIP HOP SUMMER FEST NAME TO PROMOTE MY WEBSITE/PRODUCT/EVENT?
Only if you’re an official sponsor.
CAN I SELL STUFF IN FRONT OF THE GATES OR INSIDE THE VENUE?
No, this is simply not allowed.
WHAT ABOUT BRINGING IN MY MEDICAL PRESCRIPTION? EXAMPLE: DIABETIC INSULIN?
You will need to present any prescriptions drugs to security, who will turn them over to our onsite medics who will evaluate them, and determine whether or not they will be allowed in. Only bring enough medication to last you one day.
HOW BIG IS A MEDIUM BACKPACK? / HOW WILL THIS BE ENFORCED?
It should not be wider than you are, it should not go above your shoulders or past your waist. If it’s too big, you will be turned away, so play it safe and keep it small. We reserve the right to search all bags and refuse any backpacks or bags entrance that we feel may pose a potential risk to the safety of patrons.
WHAT ARE CONSIDERED PROFESSIONAL CAMERAS AND PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL CAMERAS?
Pro cameras have detachable, SLR type lenses.
CAN I BRING E-CIGS?
We’re not your Dad. Just be respectful of our people and our neighbors.
WILL THERE BE VEGETARIAN/VEGAN FOOD OFFERED? KOSHER? GLUTEN FREE?
Yes, we’ll have over a dozen food vendors, with very diverse menus.
WILL I BE ABLE TO FIND SECURITY IF NEEDED?
Yes, there will be searches of people and purses/bags at all gates, and security teams will be in bright, easy to see clothing and present in all areas of the fest grounds.
WILL THERE BE ATMS?
Yes, they will be at the main gates, as well as attached to all bar and concession areas.
ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED?
Credit cards are accepted at box office
WILL THERE BE LOCKERS AND CELL PHONE CHARGING STATIONS ON SITE?
Yes, there will be a limited amount of lockers and a cell phone charging center onsite. There will be additional fees for that service. (More info on rates and availability here soon.)
WILL THERE BE A LOST & FOUND? (LOST KEYS, CELL PHONES, ETC.)
Yes, we’ll have an Information Booth onsite where lost items will be taken, and will post info on lost items the day after the festival.
WILL THERE BE FIRST AID ON SITE?
Yes, there will be multiple ambulances and paramedic teams to take care of you should you have any health issues.
There will be one set of public drinking fountains onsite. Bottled water will be sold in all concession areas.
WILL THERE BE A SUNGLASSES / VISORS OR HATS / SUNSCREEN SOLD?
Definitely! We’ll have dozens of vendors selling all kinds of useful items.
WILL THERE BE A FESTIVAL MAP AVAILABLE AHEAD OF TIME SO WE CAN SEE WHICH BANDS WILL BE AT WHICH STAGES/TENT AREAS? AND SEE LOCATIONS OF FOOD COURTS, BATHROOM AREAS?
Yes, we’ll release all that info close to the time of the festival.
WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH PARKING?
Some street parking is available in the neighborhood. Though we encourage everyone to utilize public transportation. Find out more about your options at transitchicago.com.
IS THERE ANY CAMPING? WHERE CAN I PARK MY RV? IS THERE RV CAMPING?
Per ordinance of the City of Chicago, there is no camping within the city limits. Which means no camping at all at Hip Hop Summer Fest.
WHERE IS THE NEAREST TRAIN STOP AND/OR BUS STOP?
Addams/Medill Park is within a short walk of the CTA Pink Line trains at the 18th Street and Polk Street stops, as well as the Blue Line trains at the Racine stop.
WHERE IS THE NEAREST GAS STATION OR DRUGSTORE?
There is a gas station, drug store, bank and other shopping options at Roosevelt Rd & Ashland Ave, just a few blocks from the venue. We also recommend you check out all the local dining and shopping options in Pilsen on 18th Street, as well as on Taylor street, just north of the venue.
WHERE IS THE VENUE?
Addams/Medill Park is at 1301 W 14th St, Chicago, IL 60608. The main entrance will be at the intersection of Loomis & 15th St.
WILL THERE BE PASSES SOLD AT THE EVENT?
If there are still passes left (capacity is limited), then yes, they will be sold at the box office. Cash only, ATM’s will be provided. Prices will rise as the festival gets closer, so be sure to buy early and save money you can spend at the fest. See pricing info on our TICKETS page.

No, you must be present to pick up your order and present the credit card that you made the purchase with.
